The Merchant Risk Council is a well-established, global community of payments and fraud professionals of which Shelli Garcia and Cyndi Hoddinott have been contributing members their entire careers. MRC’s conferences offer great opportunities to learn new skills, stay up-to-date on trends and upcoming changes, and meet other professionals.

Several Pagos birders will descend upon Las Vegas in just under two weeks! We’re excited to share our own knowledge and experiences with you, and we’d love to learn what’s making you most excited—or frustrated—in the industry. As is typical for Las Vegas, there’s more than one way to play:

Learn

Come see our teammates in action in MRC trainings and sessions:

Payments 201

Monday, 7 March, 1:30pm-5PM PT

Cyndi Hoddinott will co-facilitate this training on the role of payments, managing costs, customer experience, regulations, managing operations, and strategies.

Ignite

Tuesday, 8 March, 10am-11am PT

Albert Drouart will represent us in this fast-paced presentation competition.

Tokenization: Secure Credentials + Fewer Declines = Customer Loyalty

Tuesday, 8 March, 1:15pm-2pm PT

Join us at this roundtable to expand upon the topics Albert discussed when introducing Toucan last November. The driving emphasis: tokenization makes customer payment information safer and increases transaction success rates, which helps build customer satisfaction and loyalty. Bring your questions or use cases and join the discussion with us so we can learn from each other!

Geek Out

Klas Bäck, Katie McCarthy, Shelli Garcia, Cyndi Hoddinott, Albert Drouart, and I will also be around and are happy to dig into a number of subjects, be it working culture (pick me! pick me!), fintech, fraud, or the services we’re building to provide businesses with:

  • Clear data insights and visualizations across their payment processors, channels, and technology stacks (awareness)

  • Tailored industry insight for their specific context (advice)

  • Easy to use tools for driving and executing the decisions that help businesses thrive (action)

If I had to sum our team up in one word, it’d be passionate. We all have different areas we’re focused on, and they’re all critical to our mission to reduce payments complexity and foster a community of learning and growth across the industry. Everything is connected, after all.

I’m looking forward to meeting those who attend in person, and we’re always an email away if you can’t make it.
